Problem
In the mobile machinery market, hydraulic valve manifolds with proportional technology are widely used. Machine builders often rely on ratiometric PVE valve technology from Danfoss® in addition to PWMi control.
In many mobile control systems, however, the PVE outputs required for this are scarce or simply not available. Depending on the situation, either the control system has to be replaced at great expense or, alternatively, a considerably more expensive hydraulic block with CAN connection has to be integrated.
Solution
The new PVE control module from Data Panel's xtremeDB family offers a clever solution instead. The module supports the SAE J1939 bus protocol, is fully encapsulated, and has been specifically designed and tested for harsh mobile machinery applications. The xtremeDB's eight PVE slots ensure precise control of PVEA, PVEH, PVES and PVEO valves and also provide their error signal via integrated diagnostics on the CAN bus.
With the installation of xtremeDB directly in the field, the complex wiring harness between control cabinet and hydraulic block is significantly simplified.
After integration, only two pre-assembled connection cables lead to the bus module. From there - via a short connecting cable - it goes directly to the PVE valve.
Data Panel's decentralized technology keeps the costs for additional engineering low and significantly reduces the amount of wiring required in production - especially for machine variants that deviate from the standard.
